Did anyone here have a twin block orthodontic appliance?

I had them to correct my overbite, before having fixed braces to straighten my teeth.

Wikipedia says that the purpose of twin blocks is to lengthen the lower jaw by posturing it forward, and that if the jaw is growing during twin block treatment, it naturally grows at a faster rate.

Since using this site, I’ve wondered what effect they had on my facial development. Everyone here hates orthodontists but I suspect they saved me from being a truecel and needing LF. Did anyone else have twin blocks?

Twin block mainly moves teeth and also favours maxillary downgrowth. Numerous studies shoe that the real mandibular growth (average) is around 1 mm.
