Braces don't mess up anything if they expand outwards and you didn't have any teeth extracted.

braces often times pull the jaw back and fuck up the face in various ways for teens. many ppl need bimax BECAUSE of braces as teens. instead of braces natural expanders like mse, facemask etc during puberty is better. as an adult braces are fine as a method to fix bite and prepare for surgery

I think mfr is predominantly genetics. So if you have dental issues, concerns about mfr should not be what prevents you from getting braces

Obviously not a big sample, but I mouth breathed until around 13-14 and my midface is pretty compact. I'm sure mouth breathing has an effect but likely not as big as genetics
