Earrings for men?

Are there any earrings that doesn't make a man look effeminate or weird?
I'm not a fan of diamond stud earrings on the earlobe, they make you look cheap.
Golden rings on both earlobes makes you look like you are roleplaying a pirate.

Any good photos of men with cool piercings?
Personally, I think helix piercings and industrial piercings look cool but I want to know what you guys think.
Do you think they just look too try-hard?
Do you think it only looks good on good looking people?

idk how I feel about old men (40+ old) with piercings.

P.S. I know in Howl's Moving Castle, the dude had dangly earrings on both ears but I've never seen guys do that. Is it because it makes you look too feminine? idk...don't some girls find that attractive?
