In this fairly limited study of genetic clustering back in 2009. Of 128 African Americans studied only one had 0% European ancestry and they had a little San ancestry which may or may not count as Black African depending on who you ask (as there is no objective definition of racial groups this obviously is not very easy to define). So I guess based on this way too small sample size we can say in the general region of 0.78% of African Americans are descended from people exclusively native to Sub Saharan Africa.
I should add that this doesn’t make anyone any less black or any less part of the culture that is black America. Ultimately the specifics of your genetic makeup don’t matter that much next to ethnic considerations.
(what does San mean?)
