How to tell if eyes are considered deep-set?

I thought my eyes were relatively shallow, but in pictures from far my eyes look deep. Also the girl I’m seeing rn, says that my eyes can’t even be seen in the dark unless close.

I once had a girl say "I don't think I've ever seen your eyes properly" when we were at a dinner and there were candles on the table. Any time there's overhead lighting, my eyes are two shadows. Think Sam Malone from Cheers. That's deep set eyes.

Can remember when I was 10 my female cousin telling me I have nice eyes. I don't even know what class my eyes are. They're nothing special imo.
