IGF-1 or insulin like growth factor 1: is a hormone similar in structure to that of insulin hence its name. it plays a major role is ones development through puberty and has an anabolic effect on adults.
some benefits of IGF-1 include
-Building muscle mass & increasing Strength
-The prevention of muscle wasting
-The enhancement of physical performance and muscle recovery
-strength building in response to working out
-the regulation of body fat levels
-an all around slower aging process
-Stimulation of growth hormone & hair follicle
-and so much more
This hormone is fucking stacked. being at a surplus of this is like taking a steroid in they way that it boosts literally fucking everything.
you can boost your IGF-1 levels by:
-working out
-eating high amounts of dairy and protein
-sleeping enough
-daily sauna sessions
-or just supplementation
sadly enough this hormone also has a significant amount of negative side effects and risks, including:
-Impaired glucose metabolism
-hypoglycemia
-retinal edema
-fatigue
-changes in sexual function (negatively)
-severe muscle pain
-and the contribution to cancer development.
despite all of these risks and negative effects this hormone is still stacked and may be worth trying to boost based on your aspirations. there is a whole lot more about IGF-1 that I didn't get into but if you are interested in it i highly suggest reading through these links below.
