So I'm chilling at the bus stop at a pretty busy station in my city. A compleeeetely average-looking guy in his early-mid twenties comes up to me and we have the following exchange.
Him: Hi, can I ask a question?
Me, thinking he wanted directions: Yeah, sure!
Him, with the resting bitch face of quiet anger: .......Do you think I'm ugly??
At this point I immediately knew. I didn't want to say "no" because I felt like this was shaping up to be a leading question. So I said nothing, I just kind of blinked like that blonde guy in that gif.
Him: Is there something wrong with me? Am I so repulsive??
At this point, a random homeless person enters the convo, asking for change. I suddenly felt really unsafe because the guy looked angry, suppressed anger but anger nonetheless. So I got up and started walking, leaving him with a very insistent homeless person.
I looked back to see if he was coming after me. He leaned to look over the homeless guy's shoulder and called after me sarcastically, "Thanks...! Thanks a lot!"
This happened months ago. I just told my sister the story and to my surprise, she said the same thing happened to her at a different station, a more empty one and at 2AM to top it all off. She described a different guy than the one I met, meaning there's a network of incels in my city going up to women and opening with "Do you think I'm ugly".
Just wanted to share, I wonder if this is a thing in other places, too.
