Higher IQ gives you the ability to contemplate and become concerned with that which previously you were not able to comprehend properly, but you aren't necessarily high IQ enough to be able to understand it yourself.

It's like sitting at a control panel. A higher IQ gives you a lot more buttons to play with, and a lot more on the screen to interact with, but you don't necessarily understand how the game works or what the buttons do. You just recognise that there's something there, and you've got to try to figure that out on your own. That's arguably even worse than being ignorant to it all because of the added risk.

Concerns for the world, for morality or anything metaphysical or grander in scale can be a double-edged sword. It's why the 20th century was plagued by terrible ideas from very high IQ thinkers that needed to try to make it all better.
