Which one is better? Seems like Retin-A works for deeper layers of skin, therefore it could be better for collagenmaxxing, but could it be used in conjunction with low dose accutane in the same way as Differin? Is Retin-A much more irritating than Differin?

To help answer the last question, Differin has literally 0 irritation.

This. Also differin will likely be more tolerated by your skin than retin a. For some people tretinoin can give a really harsh initial reaction and you wouldn't have that if you tried differin instead.

But which one improves your skin and collagen the most?

Tretinoin for collagen. Differin helps with acne scars or redness primarily, the collagen benefits of differin are smaller

Tretinoin burns my face like crazy, I had 0 irritation with Adapelene
