It's a straightforward principle: you either reach the finish line, or you don't, no in-between. As for the points raised by the Shia guy, Mutah is a Shia practice and considered haram. It attempts to undermine Shariah by engaging in games and having sexual relationships, which is forbidden, whether with a Muslim or non-Muslim woman. Islam does not make distinctions in this regard, treating a Muslim or non-Muslim girl differently would be hypocritical.
