[Disclaimer: if you have a subhuman maxilla this post is probably not for you as you as your maxilla might be too far regressed and you should probably just moneymaxx for surgery or wait for spaceforce to go into space and make public alien technology to fix your subhuman maxilla (10-20 years)]
What’s up boys.
With just mewing this is as good as it’s going to get.
I started mewing in 2014, working on my posture and hitting the gym. Made some progress:
2014 vs 2020
[My maxilla is obviously still recessed and my lower teeth are actually properly behind my upper teeth so my mandible is recessed too.]
You can’t drastically change your bone structure with posture alone as an adult (but good posture > bad posture)
So I decided I need external help and got a biobloc + facemask.
After 1 month of using it I’m not convinced.
Biobloc definitely gives you transverse expansion and could help you age more gracefully by not letting your skull melt but it probably won’t help much if you’re molten already.
Gains you make with biobloc are initially more tooth-borne and can flare your teeth as an adult, while MSE will give you a lot more expansion on the skeletal level.
The above rules out biobloc for me. Byebloc
Lefort 1 VS MSE + Pull device
MSE:
So I’ve been looking into MSE + facemask. And not the standard flimsy facemask but an actual well constructed anchored device.
Either to the neck like ’The crane’ or the neck and the forehead like ’The Bow’. So I can pull with at least 1kg of force for 20 hours a day for at least 6 months during the actual expansion of MSE.
During the expansion the suture of the maxilla splits and the idea is that the sutures around the maxilla like the zygomaticomaxillary become more lose.
Dr. Won Moon does lectures on these and shares his results.
At 10:04 you can actually see significant protraction on skeletal level in a 30 year old patient using the MSE + flimsy facemask:
Lefort1:
The idea with lefort 1 is that they cut your maxilla transversally, shove it forward and screw it together.
This can definitely give you great results and improve your looks.
The problem with Lefort1:
It doesn’t include the higher maxilla.
So you might not get a forward growth look of the higher parts of the maxilla and you can tell by the skeletal picture that those areas are not unimportant.
Conclusion:
MSE + Facemask might get you a better results than Lefort 1 when it comes to complete maxillary protraction.
I’m sure in the future it’ll be so easy to move and manipulate skeletal plates through the sutures but MSE + Facemask seems to be the best solution to attain forward growth in the maxilla for now.
