In my darkest moments I can see every bit of the suffering and tragedy of even being born. Do I really need to remind you, that everything you have ever loved in the past is now gone, replaced in time with this moment we have here right now.
And that every victory you have ever had is replaced by the losses of the moment.
That every belief system is falsified and shown to be a lie, everything you work for results in the dust on the ground in due time, that when you die, the sun sets, and rises again the next day as if nothing happened.
This is the reality we live. It is almost unbearably painful to acknowledge, i will be forgotten, my suffering inevitably for nothing, not only that, but I was almost born purely just to suffer.
In nihilism I found one thing though, that there is much evil in the world, and it is caused by men just like me, to other men including me.
I realized there is a wrong way to behave, and many men follow that. It is Machiavellianism, egoism, and the chasing of power at the expense of your fellow man. Winning then involves a bit of sacrifice, you have to sacrifice your own victory so that your fellow man suffers less, that's what giving is anyways, you give your own reward to the man next to you.
So i realized that I 100% believe there is a wrong way to behave. So i do believe in moral systems I realize. I do believe men are evil. So i must believe men are good, otherwise I wouldn't be able to claim they are evil.
What do we do then?
Have the skill to defeat your enemies, and the wisdom to not be like them. This is the basis of all moral systems, "respect" and "honor" stem from morality of this logic.
We are in an age of nihilism and i want out.
Do what you know you need to do. You already know how you could behave better, it's the small voice in the back of your head saying I shouldn't be watching porn I shouldn't play video games I need to get to work. That's the voice that wants the best for you. You need to listen to him.
Listening to the small voice, all the time, even when you don't want to, is what we call "discipline".
And let me tell you, LDAR isn't even enjoyable. The pain of life amplifies when you give in to hedonism, it doesn't remove it. That voice screams louder and louder that you shouldn't be doing what you are doing the more you give in to your immediate desires.
You are going to suffer regardless. Either you suffer to reach your goals, or you suffer from the voice telling you to reach your goals while you choose to engage with the voice telling you to jerk off and pursue baseline instincts like sex and food.
You have to suffer either way. You just choose how.
If you are going to suffer, make the reward worthwhile.
Ill leave the reward you want up to you. It's a dream. Whatever dream you have, you can accomplish it, otherwise you wouldn't even be able to dream about it. And often your dreams are only dreams because they ARE achievable. You don't dream about things you can't eventually have, your brain isn't that stupid.
If only all of us lived harder lives, all of these concepts would be obvious to all of you. The greatest men were found in the worst circumstances for a reason. A hard life makes a good man.
