This is why I worry that all this bulking and cutting shit I do in the gym is gonna fuck up my skin. lmfao (I finished my first bulk last fall and I'm now on my second cut. I lost 40 lbs in 2022, I was a basement dwelling rotter fat ass. I never changed my McFlurry avatar since 2019. Now I'm a basement dwelling gymcel who leaves the basement to go to the gym and mix protein shakes and eat in the kitchen as my dad doesn't have a finished basement. Bulked 27-28 lbs in 2022-2024 and cut 6-7 lbs so far in 2024.

Building muscle mass at calorie maintenance is such a slow, inefficient process though. I tried doing that for about 5 months and gave up. I was around 152.8 lbs @ 167cm tall, 17% body fat, 9 visceral fat rating. It's much more efficient to do bulk and cut cycles as a natty.

I've heard anecdotally from someone on this forum that they blasted gear and were eating around maintenance calories and built so much muscle and lost body fat simultaneously.

Yes if you have a nice face, going to the gym can help you. My ex-gf and I first met in 2019 IRL. But I was a rotter fat ass back then. I'm a 167cm turbo manlet and was 160+ lbs at the time God knows what percent body fat, sedentary. In 2022 I got up to 168.2 lbs. Saw that I was 36.5 years old and felt like I had to change if I didn't want life to pass me by. I dropped 40 lbs to 128.1 lbs in Oct 2022. Hit the gym July 2022. Bulked like 25 lbs. Then when my now ex-gf saw me again in November 2023 IRL 4+ years after she met me, she slid in my DMs. And we had sex on the fourth date and dated for 3+ months. Ultimately it ended because I think it was just a fling/situationship. As we barely got out of 3 months. She wanted me to be more of a beta provider and the novelty of getting dicked down by a Chadlet wears off over time. Women have tons of dudes in their DMs. One time I glanced her phone and saw like 34 unread notifications on just her meetup app.

But if you're a fat rotter incel or facially ugly, she will never sleep with you in the first place.

Also something I want to say: A lot of people (including Thinking Ape on YouTube) say that bodybuilding comes down to genetics. That is true on the pro level. Or even amateur competition. But not for general aesthetics. That's cope. Most people who say that they're not making gains in the gym either train like shit (often times lifting too heavy with bad form and rushed eccentric. Some people do sandbag if they are risk averse or have a history of injury but lifting too heavy with bad form and ego lifting is far more common in the gym I noticed), their programming is shit or they are skinny dudes who don't eat enough calories.
