Many of us here on this site use wrong methods of measuring the growth and position of the maxillas, which may lead you into believing in false hope when looking at yourself in the mirror/photos and then comparing your success in real life. One such way of wrongly measuring the recession of the maxillas is the "browridge method". According to this principle, you draw a straight perpendicular line from the tip of your browridge down to your chin, and if your lips protrude over this line, you (wrongfully) consider you've got a forward grown maxilla. I'll explain why this is total cope. Look at the image below:
According to the browridge method, she's got a well developed maxilla, a well developed mandible, but a slightly recessed chin (not a big deal, right? maxillas>chin afterall)
As any aspie would realise, it's totally wrong. The connective tissue and teeth between the maxilla bone and her lips and protruded. She suffers from bimaxillary protrusion, which sounds misleading as it's not the maxilla that is protruded (forward grown) but the teeth on it are, thus creating the illusion of a forward grown face.

How do we measure actual forward growth then?
It's simple, but it isn't free. You need to have a radiograph of your skull, like this one:
Lateral cephalometric skull radiograph part i

And you will have to apply on it the principles of cephalometrics and then measure the SNA and SNB angles using an app called ImageJ which you can download for free https://imagej.nih.gov/ij/download.html
(Cephalometric method of measuring growth)

As an explanation, S stands for the center point of the sella turcica, a space where your pituitary gland is located, N stands for the nasion, A for the upper maxilla point of measure, which is before the upper teeth protrude and B for the lower maxilla point of measure, which is also before the lower teeth protrude.
And now, a practical example on how to measure, for lowIQcels:
Asdas

Interpreting results: the average SNA angle (upper maxilla) is 82 degrees plus/minus 2 degrees, so between 80 and 84 degrees you're a normie, obviously below those measures you're slightly to severely recessed.
the average SNB angle (lower maxilla) is 80 degrees plus/minus 2 degrees
, although don't worry as much about this measure as it's far easier to move the mandible forward during a surgery than to move the upper maxilla, which is anchored in the skull, so the true interest is in the upper maxilla.
Hope this helped and feel free to ask questions for clarification, I have to admit this isn't easy nor cheap, but it's the most realistic way of quitting the browridge cope and finding out your true value. Hope nobody killed themselves after having an angle of 70 degrees JFL.
