I'm going to keep the thread short cause of the average attention span here and cba spending hours writing a thread here.

Most probable Mechanism of balding
Dependent on both DHT and mechanical tension (affects DHT levels in the scalp)
"chronic scalp tension transmitted from the galea aponeurotica induces an inflammatory response in androgenic alopecia-prone tissues; (2) dihydrotestosterone increases in androgenic alopecia-prone tissues as part of this inflammatory response; and (3) dihydrotestosterone does not directly miniaturize hair follicles. Rather, dihydrotestosterone is a co-mediator of tissue dermal sheath thickening, perifollicular fibrosis, and calcification – three chronic, progressive conditions concomitant with androgenic alopecia progression. These conditions remodel androgenic alopecia-prone tissues – restricting follicle growth space, oxygen, and nutrient supply – leading to the slow, persistent hair follicle miniaturization characterized in androgenic alopecia"

for anyone interested in delving deeper into why I believe this to be true

Possible cure
So we are already aware of how limiting/decreasing DHT through oral and topical medications like finasteride can positively affect hair growth, now what happens if we reduce scalp tension.

Botox
This a simple explanation of how botox will affect hair growth.

"Conceptually, Botox “loosens” the scalp, reducing pressure on the perforating vasculature, thereby increasing blood flow and oxygen concentration. The enzymatic conversion of testosterone to dihydrotestosterone is oxygen dependent. In low-oxygen environments, the conversion of testosterone to dihydrotestosterone is favored; whereas in high-oxygen environments, more testosterone is converted to estradiol.4 Blood flow may therefore be a primary determinant in follicular health. Strategically placed Botox injections appear able to indirectly modify this variable, resulting in reduced hair loss and new hair growth in some men with androgenetic alopecia."

tbh After botox your hair should be better because of better nutrient transfer.

What about corticosteroid injections, my dermatologist was thinking of testing it out does the same thing I’m pretty sure.

Go for botox tbh
Not feasible at the moment for most people tbh
You need 2 to 3 sessions of botox in year. flying to america 3 times will be pretty expensive for some guy

i believe the tension in the galea part of the scalp is caused by headshape. a long head horizontally from the side profile would be more prone to frontal balding. my dad is like the highest norwood and a long head from side profile. i have androgenic alopecia confirmed by dermatologists and scalp biopsy, but its on the sides of my head and not front. i have a wide neurocranium but its horizontally short from the side profile. i wonder if hypertrophying the temples with chewing can transfer the pressure away fron the galea.

Is Botox expensive?

Are biopsy’s useful and diagnosing hairloss and potential for regrowth?
just got one done still waiting for results

6 years and I still haven’t being diagnosed with a definitive form or cause of hairloss.
These stitches on my scalp better tell me something because if it’s another “I don’t know” diagnosis from another doctor I’m going ER

This thread has been made many times by @AutisticBeaner and some others, legit but reposted

Not really the same thing though similar and the point of the thread is more focused on the potential cure of balding through easing mechanical tension and I provided multiple studies particularly on the role of botox in curing hairloss which i've never seen being comprehensively done before.

stop the scalp tension theory pls

hairtransplant wouldn't work if this theory would be true

I just provided multiple scientific studies to prove my point, what exactly do you disagree with be specific

with HT you take DHT resistant folicle and place it on the place where your hair felt off
This folicle will stay there. when you theory would be true it should fall off (since scap tension and shit is the same)

In no part of my arguement did I say that all follicles are the same, I know there are DHT resistant follicles at the back of the head. My theory is basically saying that higher scalp tension causes more inflamation in the scalp DHT is an anti inflamatory androgen so it's directed to the scalp. This in turn leads to minitiaurisation of the non resistant hair follicles at the top of the scalp i.e norwooding

Good read, thanks for sharing. It matches my own experience also. My temporalis muscles protrude excessively when I eat due to my bite being slightly off. Often times it feels like I worked out my head just by eating. I wonder if this tension has accelerated my norwood.

Hairloss ddue to dht levels.

And

Hairloss due to less scalp blood flow.

2 different causes of balding.
Needing different treatments?

I mean yeah but in the OP I explained I was talking about androgenic alopecia

There have been all sorts of experiments with humans and animals, here is one conclusion:

"The takeaways: scalp hair follicles adapt to growth rates set by their surrounding environment. Thus, scalp hair follicles can be influenced by the location in which they are transplanted."
