My dentist said I'm going to have to wear a face mask that pushes my upper jaw forward so I'd have a correct bite. My jaw is uneven, one side of my jaw is normal and on the other side of my jaw I have a minor underbite.
The only option to ever have a symmetrical jaw would be surgery but we're going for the face mask she said.
This is what I'm going to wear at night.
Since I'm afraid of getting an overbite and fucking my face up even more by having my upper lip too forward in relation to my chin, I asked her how much she's going to pull forward. She said the main goal is to create bone in my upper jaw, so there will be new bone and my teeth will then be turned inward so I won't have unaesthetic lips.
I hope so.
Here's a scan of my face taken a year ago:
Here you can see that my maxilla is severely recessed, especially my upper maxilla. My upper jaw is going to be pulled forward so my teeth won't touch when biting.
Is it going to make me look less aesthetic?
What do you think? @OCDMaxxing ?
