Can I gain width in my ribcage area through lifting?

oh you guessed it right it's one of my autistic lifting threads again

I desperately need to gain width because I currently look like a small faggy kid and it's a huge failo, here's another shitty paint morph before/after in a shirt:

My main concern that I won't be able to gain width like in that morph because afaik there's pretty much no muscle tissue in the ribcage area to gain width from, aka this area:

so basically my ribcage is narrow and I'm wondering whether gaining lats/obliques can even compensate for this shit?

Yes obviously. Although not in the way depicted in your morph.
 
just gain muscle all around. As for that area you want, it's called obliques which can be trained. These are facts. However, If you strictly mean the ribcage cartillage, then do breathing pullovers. I've heard and seen some people experience growth after doing them.
