Hi guys, it’s been a while. I only returned to warn you guys of finasteride.
I started balding in my mid teens so I started taking finasteride a bit over a year ago at the young age of 18. I started with 1.25mg every other day and did this for two weeks. I got no side effects other than watery semen which I was ok with since I was certain it would go away after stopping the medication. Then I moved up to the prescribed dose of 1.25mg and after a few days I started noticing drastic loss of libido, erectile dysfunction and a lack of sensitivity in my genitals. I thought the side effects might be temporary so i kept taking the pills for a few days but the side effects became unbearable and I hopped off.
For the first couple weeks after discontinuation I was still very optimistic since I didn’t believe in PFS. I started losing hope at the 1 month mark and It didn’t take long for me to become a complete wreck. I avoided friends and family, cried and wondered why me? At the age of 18 I should be living my best life and now I’m gonna be a virgin for life cause I’m pretty much asexual because of my libido I thought to myself.
4-5 months after discontinuation I tried to book an appointment with my doctor but she didn’t believe me and indirectly said that it’s all in my head. So I had to go to a private doctor and he luckily knew his shit and believed me. I did a hormone test and unfortunately nothing was off. I say unfortunately because an out of whack hormone profile would have been easy to fix. He also prescribed me cialis which has helped with erections.
Roughly 6 months after discontinuation I accepted the situation for what it was and grew a pair of balls. I started living normally again, seeing friends, doing activities and so on. I also started trying natural treatments and soon I will start trying unnatural ones.
Now one year after discontinuation I know I have a long way to recover and it won’t be easy but I’m going to give it my all.
List of side effects:
- Low libido
- ED
- Short-Term Memory Loss
- Inability to focus
- Watery semen
- Cold testicles
If you’re currently on finasteride and haven’t experienced side effects I don’t want to scare you into thinking you’ll get PFS. You’ll most likely be fine since PFS is very rare. But I’d still hop off the drug because it’s not worth the risk.
Please take my advice and avoid the drug at all cost. You don’t want to end up in the situation I’m in.
Never take your health for granted like I did and care for your health. Have your priorities in check. I wish you all the best.
